Currently, it is a little chilly to complete a project like this but there is nothing wrong with being prepared. Right now, I am keeping my Grandkitty and he happens to be an indoor cat. His cat tree is located in the window of my office and there just happens to be a large tree that this project would be perfect for. I think Shadow would like to watch the birds in the bath.

The little birdies in my yard will be so pleased I ran across this post today. I just happen to have two casserole tops without a bottom and some jute cord that I can create two little birdbaths today. Thanks for the inspiration.

haven't any lids to use, but several glass pie plates just sitting on a shelf waiting to be useful - no reason this couldn't be used as a bird feeder too for peanuts and sunflower seeds for the jays

Absolutely! I've thought of making a second one as a feeder, too!

This is a very cute idea Sarah With your clever hanger design, I could use just about any plate, lid or shallow bowl to create the bird bath. I have just the tree outside my office window to hang it and I am sure that my cat will love sitting in the window watching bird TV.

This is so cool! Even if you don't have an extra lid laying around, you could so easily thrift one.

Exactly! That's where I found this one. )
