Keep the ones you love cozy this winter by making them their very own Upcycled Sweater Sleeve Heating Pads. Maybe the box of old sweaters in your closet are too ratty or torn to donate. Never fear, the perfect solution is here. You can still salvage the sleeves by creating a set of heating pads to tuck into bed with your kids when they go to sleep on blustery January nights. Depending on how many sweaters you have, this homemade heating pad can be made in bulk and given away at Christmas. They're the perfect shape for stocking stuffers!

Using an old sweater like that is a good idea and heating pads are welcome any time, it seems. I wonder if it would be any better to felt a woolen sweater, or would that be too thick for the heat to come through? I'd be afraid the rice would slip through the stitches of some sweaters anyway.
