Joyful Creativity Apron

Materials:

  • Tulip® Fashion Glitter® -  C1 Gold Fine

  • Tulip® Dimensional Fabric Paint - C1 Gold

  • Tulip® Fabric Spray Paint - C1 Christmas Red

  • Tulip® Surface Cover™

  • Tulip® Sponge Pouncer™

  • Tulip® Fashion Glitter® Bond

  • Iron

  • Colored chalk sharpened to a point

  • White apron with pocket

  • Scratch paper

  • Paper towels

  • Tape

  • Foil

  • Blow dryer (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Iron apron smooth. Cover work area with Surface Cover. Place apron in center.

  2. To protect apron from overspray, place paper towels around edges of pocket, using tape to hold in place if needed.

  3. Start Fabric Spray Paint on paper towels to get a feel for spray nozzle. Spray pocket with an even coat of Christmas Red. Let dry – a blow dryer will speed this step – then spray again for more intense color. Let dry.

  4. Flip bow pattern over. Use colored chalk to trace along pattern lines, holding up to window if needed to see.

  5. Position pattern chalk side down, just above pocket. Hold with hand then run a finger over lines, transferring design in chalk onto fabric. Use chalk to draw lines for ribbon down center of pocket as shown.

  6. Squeeze a puddle of Glitter Bond onto foil. Place scratch paper on work surface. Working quickly, use ¾” Shader to brush an even coat of Glitter Bond within bow design, covering chalk lines. Immediately pour Gold Glitter over wet glue. Lift apron and pour excess glitter onto scratch paper, tapping fabric to remove as much as possible. Brush glue onto ribbon down center and add glitter.

  7. To create dots, tap Sponge Pouncer into glue, press onto fabric then slightly swirl to create dot. Add a few dots of glue, then add glitter, then repeat until desired number of dots are achieved.

  8. Transfer “Joy” pattern onto top of apron. Start flow of Gold Glitter 3D Fashion Paint on paper towel, using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Follow pattern lines with a thick line of paint, then pour on glitter. Let thoroughly dry then pounce off excess.
