Valentine's Day is the one time of year everything is covered in hearts. So try making an Upcycled Candy Heart Box and join in the fun. Decorate the lid of a heart-shaped box with spare fabric and thread in pink, white and red. Use your sewing machine as you doodle on your material to create some fun and festive designs. Once your heart design is finished, adhere it to your box with fabric glue to complete your Valentine's Day project.

Estimated Cost: Under $10

Time to complete: In an evening

Primary Technique: Sewing

This craft is so creatively done. I would think this came from some high end candy store. It's easy to find the candy box to upcycle. This box has storage on the inside and the top is a pin cushion which is practical for a seamstress. It would make a fine gift for a person who loves to sew.

What to do with those Valentine candy heart boxes after they have been emptied? Up-cycle. The designer of this box really went all out on this box but it is really nice. What you would use your altered box on would depend on the size of your empty box. For me, I would just save it for the next holiday - refill and gift. The sky is the limit.
