"I make these to look more as a flower. I gave them out at Christmas at the VA hospital that I use one year and I painted some Christmas colors and some for Channukkah colors and some just pretty flower colors. I did it that way because there are Christians, Jews, and people who don't believe in the holidays but they all got a present. I made over 1,000 of them and they were all well received. Unfortunately my hands are not what they used to be. I wish I could make them now and give them out. I think I would make about 5,000 this year because there are more veterans that need the cheer."

"This lace cowl will keep your neck warm on cold days. It is a snug neck warmer, that fits perfectly under a coat or a jacket. The cowl has garter stitch borders and features a lace striped pattern, it is worked in the round using circular needles and there are no seams. The pattern is a two-row repeat, so it is really easy to modify the height of the cowl. Also, this knitting project doesn't require a lot of yarn."
