I have been looking at bird baths because I want to add a few more in my yard as I love to watch my birds and butterflies.I just could not find that special one and now I se this recycled bird bath and this is a great idea. Make one I like and create myself. I am always seeing lamps at the the thrift stores veri inexpensive and never thought to use it as a base for a bird bath and you get to recycle too. I now have got to find that perfect dish and this will be mine. Thanks for the project idea.

Using an old lamp for a base is a great idea! I wish I had thought of that before tossing one out recently, but I will remember now. Garage sale season is just ahead, so I am putting an old lamp on my list. I think I already have a dish to put on one.

This bird bath is stunning, I would love to make one for our garden and I am sure if I go up to my mams attic I would find more than one old and not working lamp to use but I just dont have the confidence to try this but it is really stunning.

I love this idea, although the glass dish the blogger used really sells the project. Love the carnival glass effect.
