Patriotic Paper Pinwheels

Materials

  • Aleene's Original Tacky Glue
  • Craft knife
  • Red felt pen
  • Red, white, blue tissue paper
  • 1” star punch
  • White craft foam – 1 sheet
  • Red & white polka dot ribbon – 1 yard
  • Scissors
  • White poster paper – 20” circle

Instructions

  1. Cut blue tissue paper 20” wide. Cut white tissue paper 12” wide. Cut red tissue paper 5” wide.
  2. Layer paper with blue on bottom, white in middle and red on top. Fan-fold in 1” intervals.
  3. Hold the fan-folded paper in the center and pull edges around to meet each other to form a circle.
  4. Use Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue to glue the center of the folds together by adding dots of glue on the back.
  5. While holding the medallion open, add small dots of glue to adhere edges together.
  6. Punch out white craft foam stars with star punch. Glue stars to medallion in a circle on the blue band of paper. Color one white star with red felt pen and glue to center. Set aside.
  7. Cut slits in the 20” circle of foam board, 10” apart on one edge of circle. Push ribbon through slits to form a hanger.
  8. Glue 20” circle of white poster paper on the ribbon side of the foam board.
  9. Glue medallion onto poster paper circle.
  10. Tie ribbon into a bow at the top to hang.
