  • Candle votive
  • Utility scissors
  • Rhinestone
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brush
  • Tweezers
  • Bowl of water for safety
  • White paint (optional)
  • 1 ¼” felt circle
  • Large safety pin
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions:

1. Light candle.

2. Take first spoon and hold bottom tip of spoon to candle flame.

7. Melt 5 more petals together to create second flower layer. Try to make this layer flatter than the first.

8. To adhere layers, melt bottom of top layer, and then quickly attach to second layer.

9. Paint with acrylic paint. Let dry.

10. Spray with white spray paint, if desired. Let dry.

11. Hot glue rhinestone to middle of flower center.

12. Stick safety pin through white felt circle. Make sure it can clasp together.

13. Hot glue to bottom of flower layers.

14. Pin onto clothing.

This was very interesting. We used to do similar things with cups. That is until it was shared that the fumes you are smelling are toxic. It is still a cool idea for those that are ok with the fumes and are in well ventilation. The main reason I decided to write was the way she put the pin on the felt made it impossible to correctly pin it to anything. She instead needs some pin backs to use or the safety pin that is made for friendship pins as they let you take the pin all the way to the back. The third choice would be to glue the pin or melt the pin to the flower and cut a slit in your felt for the pin to go through. This would make a clean pretty back. And the back of the pin would not show.

Can you tell me where you got that rubber finger cover from. I have been looking for one so i do not get burned. Thanks so much
